Baseball Game Preview: Union Grove Christian Patriots vs. Vandalia Christian Vikings

Union Grove Christian hasn't had much luck against Vandalia Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Union Grove Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Union Grove Christian got the win against Liberty Christian by a conclusive 14-4. Considering Union Grove Christian has won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Vandalia Christian lost 11-5 to Alamance Christian on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nate Collins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He has become a key player for Vandalia Christian: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Timmy Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Union Grove Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Vandalia Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
