Preview: Martinsville Bulldogs vs. Orange County Fighting Hornets
The Martinsville Bulldogs will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Orange County Fighting Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Martinsville escaped with a win against Gretna by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
Meanwhile, Orange County earned a 45-34 victory over George Washington on Thursday. The victory was just what Orange County needed coming off of a 48-28 loss in their prior contest.
Laney Fayard and Chloe Hebert were among the main playmakers for Orange County as the former scored 14 points along with three steals and the latter scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Hackley, who scored five points.
Martinsville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Orange County, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
