Basketball Game Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Lone Star Rangers

The Creekview Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Lone Star Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Creekview lost to Reedy on the road by a 45-29 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 16 points.

Meanwhile, Lone Star was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-41 to Highland Park. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Scots are ranked 113th).

This is the second loss in a row for Creekview and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Lone Star, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Creekview came up short against Lone Star in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 38-29. Can Creekview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
