Basketball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Grace Grizzlies

The Valley Vikings will square off against the Grace Grizzlies at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Valley sitting on 22 straight wins and Grace on four.

Last Tuesday, Valley strolled past Hagerman with points to spare, taking the game 69-51. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Pirates are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grace walked away with it. They walked away with a 49-37 victory over the Hornets on Saturday.

Grace's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 22-0.

Valley won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Grace 58-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
