Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Williams Field Black Hawks
The Gilbert Tigers pushed their score all the way to 43 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Williams Field 47-43.
Despite the loss, Gilbert had strong showings from Torrey Gray, who threw for 69 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and Talan Young, who rushed for 82 yards. Nolan Baumgarten did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and two extra points.
Even if they lost, Gilbert's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 13 sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Williams Field, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Gilbert will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Skyline is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Williams Field does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
