Basketball Recap: Stony Brook Takes a Loss

If Stony Brook was feeling good fresh off their 57-20 takedown of Martin Luther two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stony Brook Bears were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 42-41 to the Martin Luther Cougars. The loss was the Bears' first of the season.

Stony Brook's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Martin Luther, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Stony Brook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martin Luther, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Martin Luther Cougars face off against the Portledge Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
