Game recap: Masuk High School Football Team beats Weston

MONROE, Conn. - Masuk (Monroe, Conn.) extended its winning streak to nine games with a 49-0 victory over Weston (Conn.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Panthers led 42-0 at the half.

Masuk expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a rushing touchdown.

The Monroe school's standout player in the win was Frank Bacarella. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

The Panthers came into the game allowing 14.1 points per game. The Trojans' zero points were well below their season average of 31.1 per game.



Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 56-14 win for Masuk.

The loss comes after Weston defeated Bethel 33-20 last week. The loss snapped Weston's 2-game winning streak.

Masuk (9-0) goes up against Newtown in a Southwest game matchup next week, while Weston (7-2) locks horns with Barlow also in a Southwest game.
