Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Takes a Loss

After flying high against Collegedale Academy last Monday, Notre Dame came back down to earth. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-37 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Notre Dame still got an impressive performance from Gaas Herman, who posted 18 points. The matchup was Herman's 19th in a row with at least ten points.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will face off against Silverdale Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will take on Collegedale Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd-Buchanan will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
