Softball Recap: Rosepine Comes Up Short

The Rosepine Eagles came up short against the Eunice Btlng Bobcats on Thursday and fell 8-5.

Marli Jones25 put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Jones25 was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Cailyn Evans was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Jessie Brian was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Rosepine's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Eunice, they pushed their record up to 8-15 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Rosepine is taking a road trip to face off against Oberlin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Eunice, they will welcome Rayne at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
