Baseball Recap: Herriman Mustangs vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies
After flying high against The Meadows School on Tuesday, Herriman came back down to earth. The Herriman Mustangs lost 12-2 to the Spring Valley Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Herriman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayes Priest, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Priest also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.
Even though they lost, Herriman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Herriman's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Spring Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3-2.
Looking ahead, Herriman will venture away from home to challenge Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring Valley, they will welcome Palo Verde at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palo Verde is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
