Softball Recap: Ririe Triumphs

After only two runs in their last game, Ririe made sure to put some runs up on the board against American Falls on Saturday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-5 win over the Beavers. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Haylee Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cheznee Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Ririe hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Falls struck out eight times.

Ririe's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for American Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Ririe will face off against Marsh Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for American Falls, they will be taking part in a tournament against Marsing at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
