Basketball Game Preview: Irving vs. Eagle Academy

Irving will venture away from home to face off against Eagle Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Irving comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Friday, Irving was beaten by Percy Sutton 113-42. While losing is never fun, Irving can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 811th, while Percy Sutton is ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, Eagle Academy lost 70-48 to Staten Island Academy on Saturday.

Eagle Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Irving, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Irving couldn't quite get it done against Eagle Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as they fell 64-51. Can Irving avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
