Basketball Game Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. St. Cloud Bulldogs

The Oviedo Lions will take on the St. Cloud Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Cloud will be up against a hot Oviedo team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Oviedo put the hurt on Lake Howell with a sharp 66-44 victory on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Silverhawks are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, St. Cloud was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 62-57 to Osceola.

Oviedo has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for St. Cloud, their loss dropped their record down to 18-3.

Oviedo was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Cloud in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, winning 71-63. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was St. Cloud's Tyrell Frederick, who went 9 for 15 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds.
