Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Chargers vs. Poinciana Eagles

The Liberty Chargers will square off against the Poinciana Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Poinciana is headed out to face a Chargers team ready to give their home crowd a win. Liberty came up short against Haines City on Monday, falling 14-8. The Chargers have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Poinciana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Gateway.

Poinciana saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Sosa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Liberty was able to grind out a solid victory over Poinciana in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poinciana turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
