Softball Recap: Creekview Gets the Win

Creekview's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Highland Park Scots by a score of 5-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kelis Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had over her last four contests.

At the plate, Sophia Caballero and MacKenzie Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Caballero scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Martin scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Caballero posted two hits, the most she's had over her last eight games.

Creekview's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Highland Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Creekview will look to defend their home field on Friday against Reedy at 6:45 p.m. As for Highland Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lone Star at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
