Ashton Miner put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Friday. He struck out three batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Miner and Newman Central Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Byron at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
