Baseball Game Preview: Branson Pirates vs. Bolivar Liberators

The Branson Pirates will square off against the Bolivar Liberators at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Branson is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Branson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Carthage on Saturday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bolivar). They blew past Warsaw 20-6 on Monday. The Liberators have beaten the Wildcats the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Branson's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bolivar, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Branson took their victory against Bolivar when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Liberators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
