Softball Recap: Vermillion Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Vermillion had lost eight games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-7 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Alcester-Hudson Cubs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tanagers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

As for Alcester-Hudson, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-2. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Alcester-Hudson's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delta Pies, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vermillion will face off against Yankton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Alcester-Hudson, they will take on Parker at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
