Baseball Recap: Olive Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Olive was riding high fresh off their 11-3 takedown of Wilson-Henryetta on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 12-5 to the Glencoe Panthers on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2017.

Gavin Nickell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Olive: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Bryer Maxville was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Olive's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10. As for Glencoe, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Olive had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
