Basketball Recap: Devontae Tucker and Jordan Moore Secure Win for Marengo

Marengo won the last time they faced Choctaw County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Marengo Panthers blew past the Choctaw County Tigers 55-34. With the Panthers ahead 35-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Leading Marengo to victory were Jordan Moore and DeVontae Tucker. Moore went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and three steals, while Tucker dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The game was Tucker's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Autery, who posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Marengo was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Marengo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Choctaw County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Marengo will welcome Greensboro at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. Greensboro has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three matches. As for Choctaw County, they will venture away from home to challenge University Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
