Baseball Recap: Putnam Takes a Loss

Bacon Academy hit Putnam with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Clippers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Clippers in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Putnam saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Byron Vazquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those hits marked the first that Vazquez has got this season.

Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bacon Academy, their record is now 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Putnam will welcome Montville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bacon Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norwich RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
