Basketball Recap: Georgetown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Manchester last Monday, Georgetown came back down to earth. The Georgetown G-Men were dealt a 60-21 loss at the hands of the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets on Friday. The match marked the G-Men's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Josie Mckibben was Georgetown's leading scorer, having posted five points. Gabrielle Ernst held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Lizzy Cahall took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Ryley Kleemeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fayetteville-Perry, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kleemeyer has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christina Murphy, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Georgetown now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Fayetteville-Perry, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Georgetown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-28 defeat against Eastern on the 28th. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-24 victory against Western Brown on the 28th.
