Softball Recap: Buckeye Takes a Loss

Buckeye and Verrado pushed the score to 18-3 the last time they played Verrado, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Hawks fell 3-0 to the Vipers. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Vipers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hailee Paladini was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Verrado, their record now sits at 19-4.

Buckeye has already played their next contest, a 10-2 loss against Canyon View on the 22nd. As for Verrado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-6 victory against St. Johns on the 19th.
