Upperman is 8-2 against Stone Memorial since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Upperman Bees will be playing at home against the Stone Memorial Panthers at 5:30 p.m. This will be Upperman's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Upperman turned things around against Roane County on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Yellowjackets 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bees have posted since March 28, 2024.

Upperman's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braden Green, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Green a new career-high. Carson Shupe also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Stone Memorial hadn't done well against Warren County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Stone Memorial came out on top against Warren County by a score of 4-1. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Talyn Hurd, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gage Eldridge, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Upperman pushed their record up to 2-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Stone Memorial, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Upperman has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Stone Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Upperman took their victory against Stone Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Does Upperman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stone Memorial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
