Baseball Game Preview: John Jay Patriots vs. Ketcham Storm

For the second straight game, John Jay will face off against Ketcham. The Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. John Jay is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

John Jay is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Ketcham, who was ranked second at the time (John Jay was ranked first). The Patriots skirted past the Storm 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 19th.

Landon Seipp tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Seipp was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Vinny Angioletti also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

John Jay's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ketcham, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.
