Basketball Game Preview: Hoke County Bucks vs. Southern Lee Cavaliers

Hoke County is on a three-game streak of home losses, Southern Lee a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Hoke County Bucks will host the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Southern Lee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoke County, who comes in off a win.

Hoke County picked up another tournament win last Saturday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 53-38 win over Western Harnett.

Hoke County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Karmen Campbell out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Campbell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Burris, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Southern Lee played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. 2025 welcomed they with a 58-37 loss courtesy of Montgomery Central.

Hoke County's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Southern Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Hoke County against Southern Lee when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 57-18 victory. Will Hoke County repeat their success, or does Southern Lee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
