Volleyball Game Preview: Downers Grove South Mustangs vs. Downers Grove North Trojans

Downers Grove South is 2-8 against Downers Grove North since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mustangs will challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Downers Grove South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Saint Ignatius College Prep 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Keegan Okeefe was nothing short of spectacular: she had 25 digs and one assist. Those 25 digs gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Downers Grove North beat Whitney Young 2-0 on Thursday.

Downers Grove North not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Whitney Young between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14.

Downers Grove South's record is now 29-8. As for Downers Grove North, their record now sits at 26-11.

Downers Grove South was able to grind out a solid victory over Downers Grove North in their previous matchup back in October, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
