Basketball Recap: Steinbrenner Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sarah Coble and Samantha Coble

Steinbrenner made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riverview Sarasota, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Rams by a score of 42-40 on Monday. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Steinbrenner's loss came despite strong showings from Samantha Coble and Sarah Coble. Samantha posted 13 points and five steals, while Sarah had 14 points and five steals. Samantha is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Avery Adams was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Riverview Sarasota was led to victory by Taylor Davidson and Zara Noto. Davidson earned 13 points along with seven boards and five steals, while Noto went 6-for-13 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Noto, who put up six points and nine boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Steinbrenner fell to 4-1. As for Riverview Sarasota, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
