Softball Recap: Labette County Comes Up Short

Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pittsburg Purple Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-6 last Tuesday.

Karsyn Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Keelie Good was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Karly Waun also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pittsburg, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

As of now, neither Labette County nor the Purple Dragons have any future games scheduled.
