Recap: Huntington Beach Oilers vs. Marina Vikings
The Huntington Beach Oilers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 78-67 to Marina. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Huntington Beach in their matchups with Marina: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Oilers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Barker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Oliver Nakra, who scored 17 points.
Huntington Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Marina, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Huntington Beach will take on Laguna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Laguna Beach is ranked 240th, while Huntington Beach is ranked 247th). As for Marina, they will take on Damien at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Damien has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 333 points over their last five contests.
