Softball Recap: Fairport Red Raiders vs. Victor Blue Devils
Fairport extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 10-11 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victor Blue Devils. The Red Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Lizzie Roessel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Allison Runke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
As for Victor, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
On Victor's side, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Fontana, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Lenhard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Coming up, Fairport will host Webster Thomas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Red Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. Victor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
