Softball Recap: Hardin County Victorious

Hardin County never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Fighting Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted against the Fighting Cardinals since April 26, 2018.

The team relied heavily on Macey Martin, who went 1-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Banks, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Hardin County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Coming up, Hardin County will take on Vienna at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.85 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, they will challenge Grayville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
