Basketball Game Preview: Kane Wolves vs. Ridgway Elker

Kane hasn't had much luck against Ridgway recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kane Wolves will welcome the Ridgway Elker at 7:30 p.m. Ridgway took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Kane, who comes in off a win.

Kane is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 59-29 victory over Sheffield. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wolves have posted against the Wolverines since January 24, 2020.

Kane found their leader in sophomore Preston Darr, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Darr. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Wensel, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points.

Kane was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Ridgway was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Johnsonburg 52-22. That's two games in a row now that the Elker have lost by exactly 30 points.

Kane is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for Ridgway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kane lost to Ridgway at home by a decisive 40-22 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Kane avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
