Softball Game Preview: Buckeye Hawks vs. Coconino Panthers

Buckeye hasn't had much luck against Coconino recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buckeye Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Coconino Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Buckeye 3, Coconino 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Buckeye's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Millennium hitters got past them. Buckeye lost 11-5 to Millennium on Thursday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Coconino fell victim to Yuma Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Shamrocks, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Coconino has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Buckeye's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
