Basketball Recap: Miami Union Academy Takes Down SEED of Miami in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Miami Union Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They escaped with a win against the SEED of Miami Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on February 4th, they had to take a 64-41 loss.

Chase Hemmings had a dynamite game for Miami Union Academy, putting up 22 points and five steals. Hemmings continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Savizon, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Miami Union Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Miami Union Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. SEED of Miami now has a losing record of 2-3.
