Basketball Recap: Eads Takes a Loss

If Eads was riding high fresh off their 54-30 takedown of Springfield last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eads Eagles fell to the Wiley Panthers 34-30. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Eads now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Wiley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Eads will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on McClave at 4:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. McClave knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Eads likes a good challenge. Wiley also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Deer Trail at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Wiley is facing Deer Trail at the right time seeing as Deer Trail is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
