Football Recap: Cienega Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cienega and Desert Edge pushed the score to 52-21 the last time they played Desert Edge, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Bobcats came up short against the Scorpions, falling 26-0. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Scorpions are ranked tenth).

Even if they lost, Cienega's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Andrei Davis-Lopez was especially locked on to Desert Edge's QB and sacked him three times. Davis-Lopez has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.

Among those leading the charge was Corey Frazier, who rushed for 106 yards on only 11 carries.

Cienega's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Desert Edge, the win was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Cienega has already played their next contest, a 34-14 victory against Ironwood Ridge on the 12th. As for Desert Edge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-14 win against Notre Dame Prep on the 12th.
