Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Comes Up Short

The Spring Valley Cardinals came up short against the Barron Golden Bears on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Spring Valley lost, don't look at Addison Nelson. Despite the final result, she had 12 assists and six digs. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Barron was led to victory by Abby Miller and Xendra Jilek. Miller had ten digs and two aces, while Jilek had three aces and one assist. That's the most digs Miller has posted over her last five matches.

Spring Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Barron, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Spring Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Baldwin-Woodville on the 11th. As for Barron, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Clear Lake on the 13th.
