Baseball Recap: Greenwood Drops Highest Score of Season Against North Augusta

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greenwood). They blew past the North Augusta Yellow Jackets 14-2 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Landen Still was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Greenwood's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Will Bice, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Greenwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Greenwood's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for North Augusta, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will host Mauldin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Augusta, they will take on Airport at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Airport will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something North Augusta surely won't give up without a fight.
