Basketball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sidney Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 264th).

Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Sidney, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial has already played their next match (against Kenton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sidney will take on Northmont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
