Soccer Game Preview: Skyridge vs. Lone Peak

Skyridge hasn't had much luck against Lone Peak recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Skyridge sitting on four straight wins and Lone Peak on five.

Skyridge barely beat Westlake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 4-1 victory on Wednesday. Given Skyridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Westlake are ranked 46th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skyridge hit Westlake with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lierd Kaden (2), Christian Poll, and Brady Wangsgard.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lone Peak and American Fork, and Lone Peak kept the tradition alive. The Knights won by a goal and slipped past the Cavemen 2-1. That's two games straight that Lone Peak have won by just one goal.

Lone Peak's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Skyridge, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
