Recap: New Underwood Tigers vs. Faith Longhorns
After flying high against the Newell Irrigators last Thursday, the New Underwood Tigers came back down to earth. New Underwood suffered a rough 77-56 loss at the hands of Faith on Friday. New Underwood has not had much luck with Faith recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
New Underwood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaxon Fulton, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Fulton posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Linkin Ballard, who scored 14 points.
New Underwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Faith, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Underwood on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oelrichs at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Faith, they will face off against Dupree at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dupree will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Faith is ranked 27th).
