Basketball Recap: Mainland Regional Comes Up Short

Mainland Regional was the 59-38 winner over Middle Township when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mainland Regional Mustangs fell 44-32 to the Middle Township Panthers on Friday. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Middle Township's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Farrow, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Farrow has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagen Powell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Mainland Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Middle Township, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Mainland Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-40 victory against Ocean City on the 18th. As for Middle Township, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-27 win against Williamstown on the 20th.
