Basketball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena and North squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Buena had to settle for second. They were beaten by the North Mustangs 59-30.

North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayanna Goode out in front who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points along with seven assists and four steals. That's the most assists Goode has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Xxylina Flores, who had 20 points and four steals.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for North, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Buena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North, they will square off against Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Pueblo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season.
