Basketball Game Preview: Freeland Falcons vs. Frankenmuth Eagles

Freeland hasn't had much luck against Frankenmuth recently, but that could start to change on Monday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Freeland Falcons face off against Frankenmuth Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Frankenmuth will be up against a hot Freeland squad: the team just extended their winning streak to ten. Freeland breezed past Alma to the tune of 74-46 on Friday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Panthers are ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Frankenmuth entered their tilt with Garber on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Dukes 69-20.

Freeland pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.2 points. As for Frankenmuth, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Freeland didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Frankenmuth in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
