Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee's Summit). They blew past the Park Hill South Panthers 35-7 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Karsten Fiene was his usual excellent self, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 118 yards and one score on only six carries. What's more, he posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lee's Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 83.3 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 294.

Another reason for the win was Lee's Summit's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Hayden Hinkle with three.

The win made it two in a row for Lee's Summit and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Park Hill South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
