Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Southern Coffey County's Third in Last Four Outings

Yates Center came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Southern Coffey County, but Karley Ohl wouldn't allow it. The Southern Coffey County Titans managed a 38-34 win over the Yates Center Wildcats on Tuesday thanks in part to Ohl, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Southern Coffey County's points.

Emily Ludolph was another key player, putting up 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Yates Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cayten Cummings went 7 for 12 on her way to 26 points and three steals. The game was Cummings' third in a row with at least ten points. Khloey Deeder-Kirkpatrick also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Southern Coffey County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Yates Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Southern Coffey County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oswego at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Yates Center has already played their next match (against Humboldt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
