Volleyball Recap: Bonneville Falls Despite Big Games from Shayla Belnap and Allie Hall

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Bonneville and Hillcrest, and Hillcrest kept the tradition alive. The Bees fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-19, 24-26, 27-25, 24-26, 17-15.

Allie Hall and Shayla Belnap certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hall had 13 digs and one assist, while Belnap had 28 kills and 17 digs. Belnap is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 46 games she's played dating back to last season. Hallie Briggs also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Hillcrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ali Maddux, who had 21 digs and three assists.

Bonneville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Bonneville has already played their next contest (against Blackfoot), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hillcrest, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Shelley on the 2nd.
