Soccer Game Preview: Powhatan vs. Patrick Henry

The Powhatan Indians will face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Powhatan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Powhatan's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Varina with a sharp 10-0 win. The contest marked Powhatan's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Patrick Henry was forced to settle for a draw. They and Glen Allen finished up their game with a 2-2 draw back in March.

Alan Salazar and Arshad Khalil scored both of Patrick Henry's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

With that draw, Patrick Henry's record moves to 0-1-1. As for Powhatan, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Powhatan's way against Patrick Henry in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Powhatan made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
