Football Recap: Kannon Cowan Leads Hurricane's Defense on Friday

Hurricane lost to Moapa Valley back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 35-28. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Tigers were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Hurricane didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kannon Cowan, Titan Borchardt, and Carter Wardle picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Moapa Valley still got an impressive performance from Briggs Hickman, who rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

Hurricane has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 31.0 points this season. As for Moapa Valley, their record is now 0-2.

Hurricane has already played their next match, a 43-34 victory against Murray on the 29th. As for Moapa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-21 loss against Canyon View on the 29th.
